Hey y'all!<< Southern as mess apparently.
What am I up to at the momento?
Well now that you ask...
I'm over here wondering how on earth people count macros?! Like seriously. I had looked at it before, and the other day my friend said that she was thinking about doing it.
Here's the deal.... I was doing a version of counting macros (fat, fiber, protein, carbs) and the whole IIFYM (if it fits your macros), but I wasn't calculating up anything! I was eyeballing it. Really, Bailey... because you've been so great with portions...
Anyway---I've been real loose about my weight loss here lately. I'm hardcore all week and blowing it on the weekends.
So, with the new year in sight... I want to be excited and proud of my 2013 progress. It's not as much as I would have hoped, and there was a major up & down and plateau area. To get my butt in gear, I know it's my eating that's going to have to be revamped.
So I'm on iifym.com calculating up my specific macros and then on "myfitnesspal" looking at the macros of things I add and seeing what the better choices for me to get closer to my macros for the day would be.
It's eyeopening the amount of protein that I thought I was getting, that I actually need, and what I'll need to do to meet that.
Equally eye-opening... was the amount of carbs I was wholfing down. This is going to sound stupid, but I thought that carbs really was only bread. EVERYTHING has carbs haha. I'm so over on the amount of carbs I am eating compared to what I should be... it's unreal.
It's almost sad. Like am I that girl restricting my carbs really. Yes. Now, I'll have bread. I'll eat that bread up. BUT- apparently I was not educated at all about the excessive amounts happening.
Really though this is a good moment. Everyone needs to be reminded to take a look into what they are doing and really re-evaluate.
Changing things up is good. AND this is definitely not going to be something that I do for the long run (counting macros), but I think this is how I need to wrap up 2013, and I think that this is going to be a way to teach myself some better eating habits.
I digress. Good Day. ---- I said good day!
Here's an example of today's eats (only to get better):
