Coffee Cake and Cardio Inspired

I thoroughly enjoy reading Ashley's blog Coffee Cake and Cardio as well as following her on IG. You should all do it. She's real, she's had a rough and tough journey, and she is positive. As I fired up the blog today, I read a post of her's from a while back called What's Keeping You at Your Current Weight

Basically this post was the moment that Ashley physically wrote down things that were keeping her from meeting her goal weight. I, like everyone else, am also experiencing trouble with the scales. Granted, last week I lost two pounds, I had gained some before then. But as I look at her list, I realize there are things that I could trim up on as well. And because I'm so dang positive, I'm going to look at what I'm doing right too. Can't take the good without the bad and vice versa.

What I am doing to keep myself from losing weight:
Cookie dough mug cakes ~3x/week
Eating poor when home from school at 10pm (see above)
Rough weekend eats for the most part
No veggies
Poor Sleep
Too much milk

What I am doing to lose weight:
Weights 4-5X/week
Running 2-3X/week
Eating on point pre/postworkouts, breakfast, lunch, dinner (minus veg)
Keeping track of scale, measurements, sizes
1 Gallon of H2O
protein
Hot Green Tea in place of snack
Saying no to the numerous goodies offered to me on the daily

Writing this list will help to keep me honest. I feel that I have currently taken some big steps (such as running) to step up my game on what I am doing to lose weight. I am hoping that this inspires you to really look at what you are proactively doing to contribute to your success. And obviously what you could do to tweak it if you haven't already.

I know I can cut back on the milk, and add veggies. That's where I'll start.

Have a great day everyone

  1. Love this idea, I've been having a hard time too and keep using the "I ran so much I can have just a little more" excuse! Gotta get on it :)

    1. Haha I used that excuse the other night for a Reese's pumpkin! I haven't had a Reese's cup in forever though, so I'm not even jacked up about it. Your running is so spot on by the way!

  2. Yes!!! Coffee is the best way to burn fat but excess of everything is not good for health.
