But I Don't Wanna

Smiling Because I Know My Workout Was Worth It

Sometimes people, myself included, will make every excuse in the world not to work out. My personal favorites are:

I have a test tomorrow.

If I get sweaty, I'll have to shower again.

I am so tired.

It's too late, I should just scratch it off the list for today.

I'd like to address each of my "Top Used" Excuses. I feel like this could be a helpful thing for others to do as well. Really evaluate yourself and why you haven't been able to reach your workout goals.

1. I have a test tomorrow. This is the only excuse that I ever let really bog me down. However, I know I have a test coming up for weeks. I also know that I could wake up an hour early to workout, which would also get me energized to study. Really a win-win there.

2. If I get sweaty, I'll have to shower again. If you wake up early you can get the workout in first thing and shower after. If you work out in the afternoon or at night, just change your shower times to at night.

3. I am so tired. You wouldn't be so tired if you got out of bed and did something. The reason you're tired is because you are being lazy and not exercising. Most days you are tired. Buck it up.

4. It's too late, I should just scratch it off the list for today. Why does that make sense in my mind? That is really ridiculous. Bust out 20 minutes. Any working out is good, doesn't matter for how long or at what time of the day.

Did the math. This is Correct. Real Talk.

Using Weight Watchers, you get smiley faces for each day you work out. Seeing 6-7 smileys is really satisfying, whereas 3-4 gives you the excuse "Well, that's why I didn't lose this week." I've stopped letting myself make excuses for the weeks I don't lose. I don't want to waste a week not doing all that I can. If you feel like you are doing all you can, but you've been at the same weight, make sure you are tracking and consider revamping your workout. Maybe add 10-15 minutes, try a new activity, or increase the intensity. Hope everyone is having a great week. Let Monday be a new start and it'll start looking better!! ;))
