Leadership

Camp RYLA. What a blast!! I just want to say that I have never been to camp and I got to experience it as a counselor this year at Camp Winnamocka and had a great time. We had a lot of activities that were fun, such as: treasure hunt, ziplining, ships and sailors, water wars, talent show, dance, etc. Above all else though this camp taught me about myself. There were so many kids that I could tell were like me in high school. Kids who wanted to be in on the fun activities but weren't going to run out and do it on their own. So as a counselor, I made sure that I talked to as many people and put MYSELF out there in order to make sure everyone had a great time. I'm pretty outgoing, but I made sure that I went out of my way to speak to each kid.

The whole point of that was to talk about leadership. Being an influence on someone's life. Having the power to make a difference in other's life as well as your own. If you don't like something change it. If you don't want to go a certain way in life, don't-- change it around. Everyone has that power to change situations.

And as far as living the healthy lifestyle, it's not all working out and dieting. It's about being a postive person with positive outlooks and positive goals. Don't forget that along the way!!

I didn't have my phone on me for the VAST majority of camp so I wanted to say that there are far more pictures of everything that happened at camp coming up really soon at this link :: http://www.facebook.com/#!/RYLA6170
It'll have a video on there soon too that shows the crazy high ropes course and things like that!!
