My New Journey

School starts in exactly 1 week from today.
But that's not what this post is about.
Today's post is about what else starts in exactly 1 week from today.

WEIGHTLIFTING.

That's right!! I am SO excited about this.

I used to play basketball in high school...well, guys, let's be real here, I rode the bench for like a year, BUT I totally loved weight room practices.

Then, in college, I messed around with weights in the new gym they had, but was never serious about it. I had no set weight days or anything like that.

With all my Instagram and overall fitness research I've been doing, it's looking like lifting HEAVY is where it's at.

And, if that's the case, that's where I'm at too!

My friend, Spencer, and I, got a weight machine tour from our super nice gym working guys on what the machines were, what they targeted, and how to do them.
Then, I've been looking up a TON of lifting information.

Got my cute gloves for lifting (because I get calluses super easy, like a man), a lock for the lockers, and a journal to keep track of exercises and the weights that I'm lifting.

I'm just really excited and ready to get this show on the road. Plus, I am ready for some muscles! Y'all will definitely be blasted with flex and workout pics soon!

Anyone got any tips about lifting? Share your plethora of knowledge with me!

  1. Great idea! I'm so intimidated by lifting! I had a friend I. Grad school who helped me out and I think it was a huge part of how in shape I was back then. I need to get back to that kind of thing again if I want that kind of body again. Good luck - can't wait to hear about your progress!

(By the way, I'm starting a link party for people to share old posts with advice, workout, recipes or ask for help from others - I'd love if you linked some stuff up!)

  2. Git it guuuurrrrl! I used to be into heavy weight lifting. I loved the definition I got in my arms, chest, and shoulders. The fun part was when I began to lift heavier than some guys at the gym. You'll love especially when you start being able to lift heavier and feeling the strength. Thanks for linking up.
