ANYWHO!! As I stated a few posts back, I am currently doing a Positivity Challenge as part of my end of the year goals/life change. Basically, the premise is to outwardly say something positive about yourself everyday, because we need to make sure we get praise, even if it's from ourselves. I've been keeping up with this really good, and thought I would share some ones tonight! Hope everyone is able to see the best in themselves, and others, and adapt positive attitudes and lifestyles this week!
Positivity Challenge Continued:
----- During my counseling class the other day, the teacher said that in order to prevent burnout, or from carrying home the baggage from the therapy session, we must be able to detach ourselves from our jobs, and do something for ourselves. He then proceeded to ask the class, "Who actually takes time to do at least 6 things for yourself a day?". People were shaking their heads no, one girl said that was a lot to do for yourself and she didn't have time, and just a general consensus of "No".
Thankfully, I was one of the ones that was able to say "Yes, I take time out for myself each day". There is nothing to be ashamed about when you take care of yourself and make yourself a priority. You can better help others when you aren't so bogged down. Don't let anyone make you feel less when you empower yourself. Can you name 6 things you've done for yourself today? I can.
1- Today, I made a recipe off of Pinterest. (Sucked lol that's why I'm not sharing it. BUT- totally go make these energy balls!
2- I slept in this morning. (Until 2, First time in FOREVER!!--- I felt like I was having a real summer break lol)
3- I used moisturizer on my face and let it set, when normally I'd rush to get all my makeup on.
4- I did not straighten my hair today, this is DEF for me because I don't like to burn it too often.
5- I wrote on the blog today! This is straight-up me time here ;)
6- I read the rest of my Cosmo Magazine!
Comment and let me know what you've done for yourself lately. You DESERVE to give yourself multiple joys a day!
I started this blog in 2011, to record my weight loss journey, & to hold myself accountable. Specifically, I began my journey Dec. 26th 2011. I'm 22 years old, female, 5'4, and to date have lost 44 pounds. This year, I have made incredible leaps and bounds in my journey and I LOVE the blogging community. My followers are crazy smart & super creative! I steal a lot of my good ideas from them ;) Hope through my posts, y'all are able to steal a few also. Thanks for stopping by!
I got my new clothes! And did some food tracking and yummy food making. Everything else was probably for the kids :)
ReplyDeleteAnd... Definitely make the energy balls! SO GOOD! I omit the coconut and add more flax and, bit tip, heat the honey and peanut butter in the microwave first to make mixing MUCH easier. Can you tell I've made these a few times :)
Haha I LOVE the tip! I can totally do that! These were my first time to make them. I'll up the flax next time as well (I don't think I could even taste it), but i'll have to keep the coconut lol. Thanks for the tip!!
DeleteI need to make more time for myself! I generally get in a good workout...and that's about it! haha thanks for sharing this :)

ReplyDeleteTrue, my best "Me" time is my workouts! Other stuff for me that I fit in is trying something new (food, a style, nail color) and getting a good article or magazine read! Hope you have a great week, filled with some more you time!
